The family logistics were complicated: Raine, Lexi and Charlee drove
up from Fort McMurray after picking up Neekha and Azlind in
Athabaska. Lexi flew home early because she had limited time off
work. Raine's boyfriend Steve flew up Friday and left Sunday with
Raine and Charlee. Neekha and Azlind stayed behind and moved from
our place to her mom's place for a week and they will then fly home
    to Edmonton.

Thanks to Azlind I now know what champagne grapes (Black Corinth or
Zante Currant) taste like: tiny, crisp, sweet, very flavourful.
Also what mini goldfish crackers taste like.

Lexi's dad (Raine's Ex #1) had been gifted with muktuk from his
northern relatives in Aklavik and passed on half of it to Lexi and
Charlee who love it, but they forgot about it and it lingers on in
my fridge. I am not overly fond of it but nothing edible ever goes
to waste in our house so I will deal with it. I'll probably dice it
and pan fry it like bacon and then do up a potato and onion skillet
dish. Chuck also made baked bannock, fry bread and "Eskimo"
doughnuts for the girls and I will definitely enjoy those leftovers.

We are harvesting everything from Roslind's potted mini-gardens as
autumn is fast approaching. Leaves are turning, it was just 48 F
the other night and the first flock of geese passed overhead
yesterday on their way from the high arctic to their winter home.

    Cheers

    Jim
