I have one of these rs232/rs485 to rj45 & wifi converter and it canme with no documentation. I was hoping that this would allow me to connect my old compaq machne running windows 95 (no network card) to the internet. If I succeedI would consder getting an old tandy1000 to do the same. But I have had no luck in getting anythng to work.

Does anyone have info on using this and how to set it up? Where is there a tutorial. I did a search on youtube, but failed to find anything useful.

    Any help would be appreciated.

Huh. WiFi232. Not to be confused with this, I guess.

There's a downloadable manual for the WiFi232 on this page, right
under where it says "Sold Out"...

If you can't find any help here, might want to check out a few classic computer
groups on FB (Yuck!) I'm in a few, I've seen people talk about those devices..

I'm assuming one is familar with how to get a com port working. So the rest just comes down to what dailer program one uses and reading up on the AT+ instruction set for the device.

    http://fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/865.15/people/dan.chen/esp8266/

Would be a good resource for those at commands.

I'm sure your familare with how to setup a com port. From there its just AT+ commands.

    http://fab.cba.mit.edu/classes/865.15/people/dan.chen/esp8266/

Has a good tutorial and being that your in the DFW area we could meet up at
DMS and I'll be glad to give you a hand.

Good info and that's a great offer. Right now I have medical stuff to attend to. Am healing from a precedure removing skin caner from this old noggin. They got it all from the one spot and when that heals they have another spot on
my face, right cheek the will cut into and remove. So far from the first procedure they removed it all.

But yes I would accept your offer of help when I get back to working on that side project.
