Subject: 1570 disk drive and MFM disks
I've read that the 1570 disk drive, which I have one of, can read MFM formatted disks. Is is possible then to format a disk in such a way on a DOS machine with a 5 1/2 in drive, than it can be read by a C64?
There are tools to connect the 1570 to a PC, but if it reads MFM encoding, there should be a way to do this with just software, no? That is, format the disk using the right track/sector configuration with a filesystem that the DOS in the 1570 can read.
