The United States and the United Kingdom have reached agreement on a new Open Skies agreement. This means that transatlantic flights to/from the UK can continue, even after leaving the European Union. Expansion of flights is also possible.

Air traffic between Great Britain and the United States is enormous. Every year it involves twenty million passengers and 900,000 tons of freight.

The Brexit forced the United Kingdom to conclude new bilateral aviation treaties with several countries. Often they are regulated at European level.

The British already concluded new aviation agreements with Albania, Georgia, Iceland, Israel, Kosovo, Montenegro, Morocco and Switzerland. Negotiations with Canada are at an advanced stage, according to the British government.

The recently concluded Brexit agreement between the United Kingdom and the EU also provides for a comprehensive air traffic contract so that flights between Great Britain and the European mainland can continue.
