A nasty surprise for the German Minister of Finance this weekend: the government aircraft he wanted to fly back from an IMF meeting in Bali is broken. Rodents, presumably rats, have chewed a few cables.

It is expected to take a few days before the Airbus A340-300 has been repaired, as reported by various German media. The qffected aircraft is the 'Konrad Adenauer', one of the two flagships in the VIP fleet of the Luftwaffe.

Minister Olaf Scholz is now flying back home with a scheduled flight.
