But of which there is still being used software which employs it

Usually (always?) in GUI-land on a terminal restricted to that
enviroment. I believe I am one of the few not using or depending on a
GUI and thus am far less restricted since the total space of the
monitor is available to whatever apps I use, in this case vim (aka
    vi).

Mine's only marginally GUI.... I suppose one could consider BW reader
somewhat a GUI environment, not sure if one would consider EMACS such...

I'm sure it looks more impressive on your end of things

Hard for either of us to say for sure. Most people around here are intimidated by everything they see, both on the monitor(s) as well as
    by the infrastructure.

I was thinking more just from what you'd be seeing for yourself... Being
as you are the local Wizard (with apparently no competition), I'm not
surprised that most around you are awed by anything that smacks of
    wizardry, er, computing... ;)

However at least a few of them appreciate the
way the one machine treats their so-called smart devices and gives
them access to whatever it is they find so interesting in the outside world over the wireless connection. For them, all is not lost.

Access is appreciated greatly, I'm sure.... :)

    Hey Nancy!

Being as you are the local Wizard

I get the impression that they think of me as more of a mad scientist with more
emphasis on the madness than the science.

Access is appreciated greatly, I'm sure

For sure. Without me it would be very expensive and probably not any better as
for speed, not that they really care about speed. The cost is their primary concern as everyone out here isn't what anyone would call finacially well off.

Anyhow as shown below the new real time clock seems to be working. I've got it
up to the second (and better) accuracy to at least one of the well connected machines so I am happy thus far. We'll see in a week or two what the drift looks like. So far it looks to be an excellent idea.

    Life is good,
    Maurice

But isn't that part of the definition of Wizard...? At least in some circles.... ;)

So, you've answered this set from the raspi3....? And, I presume, the
tagline generator requires a real time clock to generate the proper
number of days to the next cybertoasts... Time will tell if the drift
    will be a problem.... ;)
