No doubt a lot of people will be at the edge of their seats watching/listening about the progress of the USA election tonight. The nytimes.com site has an interesting hour-by-hour "presentation" and watch to expect at those moments. One particular paragraph intrigues me:

"North Carolina and Ohio are key presidential swing states, but while they are expected to report a majority of results quickly, they will also continue to accept mail-in ballots for more than a week. That means in a close race, we might not know who won until mid-November. "

The earliest polls close a 6pm EST. That would be around midnight in your area? The first news of anything to "guess" the outcome would barely surface 3 or 4 hours later. You're better off having a good night of sleep.
