• Question about web links in messages

From Tim Grooms@1:19/38 to All on Tue Sep 25 11:11:32 2018
    Hi all,

I have been trying to post a message here about AmiWest 2018. For whatever reason, it is packed up and sent out but never shows up anywhere. My other messages in this echo are going out OK. I am wondering if it has anything to do with the number of weblinks in the email. There are several links to webpages.

Are there checks somewhere along the way that might check for this and block the mail if there are too many? Just wondering, I don't know what else it could be.

    Thanks for any info...
    Tim

Doubtfull. It's not done to filter echomail in fidonet. All I know is, there are spamfilters on usenet gateways.

Maybe you somehow duplicated the msgid, and the message got recognised and dumped as dupe?

But that is easy to test. Just copy/paste the message text to a new message, and make sure it has a new msgid, and make sure you change some detail of the text, so it won't generate the same checksum on other systems. And send...

    Bye, Wilfred.
