My nephew drives for Uber Eats. He can make his rent in a few days work, but he says he has to be smart about which fares he accepts.

I've thought about doing that on the side. I have a full-time job already, so with the limited time I'd have available to do delivery, I'm not sure how much extra I'd bring in and if it would be worth it.

Let me help you with that: No, it's not worth it. :-)

I did a little "HelloTech" work while between jobs a few years ago and it was definitely not worth it (financially speaking). If you're just bored and want to meet new and irritating people, however, go for it!

My nephew drives for Uber Eats. He can make his rent in a few days wo
says he has to be smart about which fares he accepts.

You mean they can pick and choose what fare's they take? That doesn't sound right. I drove a cab for years. You had to take whatever fare they gave you.

Yeah Uber hardly no orders in my area. Depends on market. Been very slow in my area. I ran three apps at a time. Hard to earn money with gas expenses.

Been really slow, less pay from Door Dash. They make all the money. Maybe it will pick up soon. I've made $10.hr to $25.hr, not include ay gas. Depends on the market in your area. Small town here.

Yes. if you have extra time on your hands to make a food run, it's money in y our pocket. I worked on a project at a hospital in the middle of a busy
area, and one of our contractors on the team would stay around in the area after work to deliver food. Aperson trying to make more than pocket change will be more aggressive regarding choosing as many fares as possible.

I'm not aware of there are any penalties if a order pickup of fare is turned down. I know a few retired folks who pick up and run passengers to the airport, and give rides to and from work because they have the time.

I live in the middle of nowhere, fairly equidistant between four towns. I would lose money because I do not get paid for the trip to the customer, or th e trip home. These gigs work best if you live a few minutes away from downtown.
