I'm not opposed to having a conversation with random people (that's how you meet people in some situations), but there are some places and situations where it just doesn't seem to happen much.
I was off for a weekend in wine country, and my wife and I found ourselves sitting next to another couple sharing a bench. She was going on and on
about instagram, reach, maximizing her likes by liking other people and
their posts, and on and on and on -- all the things we knew in 2012.
I asked where they'd come from, and she dissmissively looked at me and said "Naah, I'm good". Continued talking about her efforts to increase her
viewers.
She seemed to have forgotten that people are on the other end of those
likes.
Contrast with a realtor friend who can strike up a conversation with anyone, and without breaking a sweat end up finding clients, or someone to buy a friend's car, or a landscaper. It's uncanny.
... Give the game away
