• FidoNet's CNET_BBS

From Gary McCulloch@39:902/518 to All on Tue Mar 10 21:31:40 2020
Who would like to see the CNET_BBS re-added back to FidoNet? I am wanting to get this echo added back to FidoNet. Its up to everyone who loves C-Net to help get this echo added back to FidoNet. I did say added back, because C-Net once was a popular echo on FidoNet but was removed due to inactivity.

Not sure why CNET_BBS was removed. Look at all the other BBS echos that still remain. I think C-Net has the right to be an active echo again on FidoNet. To have it added I need systems willing to back it. Are you in?

I would love to carry it. You've got a node who will carry it...especially since the C64 got me thru college. Was a good almost 10 years. Have C64/Amiga Forever...along with a C64 Mini with one of the new joysticks coming...so I will carry & use it myself...especially if I could run C64 Forever with a C64 BBS.

I personally could not care less.
But if it is dear to your heart, then go ahead!

I am wanting to get this echo added back to FidoNet.

Open an echo and let people distribute it!
    It is that simple.
There is no central authority which echos are in Fidonet.
Just offer the echo, and if there is interest then people will take it up.

By 'FidoNet' you probably mean the NA backbone systems. The area probably still
exists on some systems. You just have to find them and get them linked back somewhere. ;)
When it comes to echomail areas in fidonet, there is no (single) authority that
decides which areas are carried or not.

I wouldn't mind carrying it on my system (as long as it's not gated to a newsgroup). I have fidonet connections with most of my AmigaNet links. So if Dave has it I can connect to it on his system and the others can connect it here...

    Bye, Wilfred.

Just need the HUBs to re-add CNET_BBS back to FidoNet. There are systems and some HUBs already on it. Making RetroNet ArakNet and FidoNet all networks with a C-Net BBS Support echo.

a lot of the others. If anyone wants a fidonet feed containing CNET_BBS let

There are no real HUBs anymore. Everybody with more than 1 link is a HUB, so everybody on the fidoweb. ;)

    Does Dave have the area?
