Scrap dealer finds Apollo-era NASA computers in dead engineer's - https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14770248
Why can't I ever find something like that... :)
Really, I do like taking time out to do some Scrapping.. Lately I've
only picked up some RP (rich peoples) PC's and good Lawn mowers that
just need the Carb cleaned or rebuilt. I resale them after they are put back in good working order.
That's cool! Speaking of "scrapping", me and a couple of co-workers visited the local scrap dealer yesterday. Besides just junk, you would not believe
the number of computers/servers he has stored up. I saw a pallet....yep, a pallet loaded with 1U rack servers branded with Sun Microsystems. There was
so much computer junk scattered about, desktops, laptops, servers, parts, etc. Someone could start a small data center with what I saw.
Anyway, we found a few items we will be talking with him about. This is for work, mind you.
Thanks!
