What is the scariest thing in the world? Most probably, at the moment, is nuclear proliferation. During the Soviet years of the USSR, there were
several instances of the USSR misplacing (having their stuff stolen) from
their bases. Its likely that someone or some group of people made a lot of money by selling these weapons to a third party. Also, do you really think that communism died in a day with the dissolution of the Soviet regime. Not
by any means. There are Russians that are still as Communistic as ever. It
is highly probable that some of their missing weapons were given to themselves... to the communist security folks of the Russian government. The workers would not have any problem with that because it would just be handing the weapons to (at the time) their own government. So Russia would have weapons on two fronts... the new Russian Federation and the hidden hand of
the USSR's hard-liners. Communism didn't die in a day. It is highly likely that there are ships out in the oceams that carry nuclear weapons without official public affiliations with any government, at least not those
governance functions by _recognized_ governments. In reality Russia's security-intelligence machine was fractured --- the new Russia post 1992 and the old Russia that still has tactical nuclear weapons strike capability.
The USSR/CCCP made the largest nuclear weapon test during the Cold War. It
was called the Tsar Bomba and undoubtedly did major damage to Earth's atmosphere upon detonation. Powers now have the capability to completely destroy the world with nuclear weapons. This is the threat of the Soviets burning the world in a scorched-earth fashion that is a card from their back pocket that they can play in this worst-case scenario.
POINTS OF CONSIDERATION:
1. Communism is not dead
2. There are definitely missing nukes
3. Russia is armed to the teeth
4. It would make sense that the commies still have nukes
