I'm learning, bit by bit, that the sense of safety and integrity of the
United States is heavily sugarcoated. Poor people aren't safe. Unarmed black men aren't safe. And the disabled aren't safe.

We have shit like "Affirmative Action," but did you know that the bullshit is the only thing affirmative about it? Nobody is going to get a job to balance racial scales. It's impossible to do in the first place.

We have a slogan called "Justice For All." Go ahead and relate that thought
to the Metallica album; that's all it is! Just a Metallica album! Extremely poor, basically homeless people are the ones who are eligible for legal aid, however, legal aid is only offered to people who have been accused of a
crime; not people who have been raped, assaulted, stabbed, shot, or anything like that.

Unarmed black men are being treated like they're rabid tigers. They are
    getting squashed like cockroaches.

Despite legislation requiring business owners to provide handicap accessible restrooms, they simply don't. But do the handicapped really care about that? Not when they're too busy getting treated like 2nd class citizens in all
other aspects in their public lives.

I'm disabled, and I just got the shit kicked out of me by a gang of rogue security guards, all stemming from a misunderstanding. These motherfuckers outnumbered me by 6, but I've got stamina; I was inches away from escaping them. They barely caught me by my shirt, and suddenly 4 of them each grabbed
a limb, so I totally couldn't wiggle out of that. Then, brave little 20 year old cunt starts brutally throwing bony punches to my face, head, and nose. My nose bled all over the place like a faucet, and they put me in a piece of
shit room to sleep on the floor in a pool of my own blood. Totally unlawful restraint, in a makeshift jailcell, built by some dicks who might have a high school diploma.

Then I go to fight them legally, and I'm told by lawyers all over the
state "You are disabled, so you need to use an attorney for the disabled." The police tell me "We're not investigating.. you are disabled, right?" They all think I'm retarded because I'm handicapped, but I'm not, and I'm not delusional.

So my choices are 1) continue to feel outraged and fight a battle that nobody in the whole state want to see me win (and I'm not even aiming for damages - all I want is justice.) or 2) Let it slide, hide my disability better, and
stay away from tough guy pieces of shit (security guards, police, military dicks, etc.) I choose choice #2.

I've been a victim of failed affirmative action; I've been passed over for latinos while being a minority in NM plenty of times. I've also suffered a brutal beating, which is totally unprosecutable, because no attorney gives a shit, because they only want to bank on million dollar cases, which mine is not. I've been a victim of people thinking I'm retarded because of being disabled.

Justice for all? Keep on telling yourself that, but our hearts are broken by the illusion of a perfect society. I don't blame the kneelers at all. That's how we stand half-way, because the nation we love is half-way FUCKED.
