• My Paranormal Experience

I believe in ghosts. I've shared my story on BBSs before, but I'll briefly do it again to see if anyone finds it interesting.

While driving through the mountains in SE Albuquerque, what I'll call a ghost appeared in front of me & 3 coworkers while I was driving our work van.

It was an old woman, dressed in drab clothing, and she was sweeping the road
in front of us with a corn-husk broom. I stopped the van, and waved to her
with a smile, but she didn't waive back.

    I turned my head toward my coworkers while I made a quick comment about her awkwardly sweeping the road. When I turned my head back, perhaps 2 seconds later, she had vanished, broom and all. There was nowhere for her to run to;
we were in a very open-view piece of desert land, in the most isolated area
of a heavily fortified air force base.

She DIDN'T run. She was a ghost, she vanished in front of the eyes of 2 of my co-workers, the 3rd co-worker wasn't paying attention. She was a ghost who didn't want to be seen by us, but let her guard down for a few seconds.
Chills run up and down my body when I revisit this story. I'm totally serious.

Also worth mentioning: My co-workers and I were drug tested randomly, and
quite frequently. We weren't tripping or anything like that.

One possible explanation, is that perhaps dehydration combined with high altitude can be key ingredients in the unmasking of ghosts. We were all a little dry, overworked, and in one of the highest points west of the Mississippi. And all 3 of us saw her sweeping the road. It's not like just
one of us is some "medium" who witnessed it.

Weird shit. I've tried several times to communicate with others in the world with similar experiences, but nobody answers me. I don't think this happens often.

I was JUST about to ask you if you'd been smoking anything!

Sounds like an interesting experience, made even more unique that all three
of you had the same vision. Pretty damned eerie too. I may have to include
a variation of this in my next screenplay, heheh.

The other guys were much more familiar with hispanic legends than me, and
they began to refer to her as "La Llerona," which means "The whiner" in English.

Her story was that she was washing clothes in the river, not paying attention to her kids, and they drowned. Her soul can never live in peace, and people report hearing her saying "ahhh... ahhhh...." as she roams the region grieving.

But we didn't hear this woman moaning or anything, and we just referred to her like "I hope we see la llerona today!" I shared the story with many of the people who worked near the scene of our sighting, and one guy in particular, who has been working there for a long time, said that the description of the woman does not match anyone who has ever been employed by his geological
group, who've occupied that space for decades.

Sounds pretty cool, only one I had I was asked not to think about it or draw it to the foreground or it will find me. It meaning the demon or non-human entity which taunted me as a kid.

Not even sure should be typing these things out, but the most was a visual
when I was 5 years old and in a basement of a duplex was living in. Never
went back to a basement for years after that, it also taunted me by pulling
my covers and growling. No we did not have any pets and nor did the
neighbors, this was something I even thought of back then.

    That is my semi-story.

    Cheers!

I understand about that! For a while I didn't like thinking about these
things while being alone in the dark, but I came to a point where I just
    don't care anymore.

It scared me for a while, but I suffered no harm. I'm still trying to learn something from it, but I don't think I ever will.

I was searching the net to see if anyone has ever proven a supernatural encounter, but they haven't been able to. There's some international organization that offers 1 million dollars as a prize to anyone who could,
but that offer has been standing for a long time (1964.)

What if I had a dash-cam? That ghost would have been "busted" and I'd be rich!

I used to listen to Art Bell as much as I could, back in the day. He ran a great show, but the hours made it very hard to catch it all.

I was such a fan of Art and his show a buddy and me took a road trip down the west coast, hooked east to Vegas, then made a really embarrassing trip with photos at Art's house in Pahrump, NV. On the way back we explored the "black mailbox" and got as close as we could to Area 51 without getting shot, stopped by Rachel, NV etc. It was a great trip. Those were literally the carefree days.

Sadly I didn't see any ethereal street sweeping wenches throughout, but a
very real woman of the night did her best to engage in business with me while in Vegas...
