    Hi everyone.
Complete newbie on this board here.
Recently I finally got around to making a space for my Amiga 500 to sit. It looks great with its original monitor and everything but the only problem is, if I want to use any BBSes on it, I have to connect it to a Windows XP
computer which can get very annoying.
I was looking at the WiFi232 project and im considering getting one to use on the A500.
Has anyone here used them? Are they worth however much they cost? I just
think it would be nice to have something less intrusive when using the amiga online.
    Cheers!

I would suggest a Raspberry Pi with RS232 setup, likely USB to RS232 to talk
to the Amiga. You can run Mystic on the Pi as well and the Linux the Pi uses
is more like the Amiga than any PC. I went from Amiga to Linux as main machines, I did use Win95/98 dail-up from the Amiga back in the day, but now would use the Pi as the interface to the net (likely to set mine up this year at some point). That said this point system is working off an older Pi 2B+.
The newer Pi3 has Wifi & Bluetooth built in at the same price as that old
2B+, there are a number of software interfaces out there for it and it's easy to run 'headless' as I run the BBS and points.

The Pi is certainly something I have considered. I have one of the later ones with WiFi that was given to me by my university but I do still like the idea
of the WiFi232 in that its a convenient device that just sits in the serial port with no extra cables or setup required.
But it still could be a good use for a Pi I have done nothing with for over a year. Something quite amusing about using a computer that is many times more powerful than the amiga as essentially a modem :)

    Cheers!
