    Hi All!

    I just bought a WiModem ;)
It is basically an ESP8266 with level converters (3.3 to 5v) and a AT interpreter.

You connect it to the userport, and communicate via the serial interface.
It supports 300,1200,2400 and 9600 baud.

You can control it via AT commands, so you can connect it to your Wifi, and "dial" DNS names.
    eg. ATDTbbs.commodo.re:23

You should also be able to use it to connect to commodore server virtual 1541 and also Quantum Link (it has a spoof number feature, you tell it a number, and
if that is dialed, it will connect to a specified DNS name instead)

You can also connect to other TCP services (eg webservers).

Currently answering incoming "calls" is not yet supported, but will be in the future.
    The firmware is upgradeable online.

Mine comes with a nice 3d printed case and a RGB LED.
There is also a version with a small display, but there is not much value to the display.

Sadly it will take 3+ weeks for it to arrive (bought on ebay from an austrailian guy).
If you are interested I can describe my experience with it here.

MPL is Machine Programming Language (also known as ML) Which is the other commodore programming language

Not really what I was referring to, though I have worked in commodore Machine Code AKA Machine Language ( https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Machine_code ). I
was going for Mystic Programming Language (pretty much Pascal with libraries for Mystic BBS). When I was using the c64 a lot I found things that did work fast enough in Basic and made machine code programs to handle them, like IO
for a terminal program and some screen drawing routines.

Ahh I figured it was a typo cuz this is the C64/128 echo didn't expect terms from other platforms to be used here :D
